The latter two move sets are just for variety's sake, as (should you use Parasect) you're not only going to be running into Mewtwo. After that, eliminating the Mewtwo will be easy, unless a switch occurs or something like that. Get your Parasect past the 25% HP mark, then Substitute. Then, Swords Dance and Leech Life the Mewtwo for some STABBed, "supereffective" damage. First, you Spore against the Mewtwo, after taking a hit from it. The first move set is the patented "Mewtwo-killer set". Spore is indeed Parasect's saving grace, and can allow him to pull off other things.

Spore is the only 100% accurate Sleep attack in the entire game, and it's exclusive to the Paras series in RBY. However, it's Parasect's TM compatability and more importantly his naturally learned moves that save him. His stats make him appear to be mediocre all-around, not to mention his dual Bug/Grass qualities, which make him quadruply weak to Fire and Flying attacks. Parasect has got low HP, the lowest speed rating in the game (tied with Snorlax and Slowbro), second highest attack of all Grass types (tied with Exeggutor), decent special, and decent defense. Spore, Swords Dance, Substitute, Leech Life.ģ. If not, you're still hitting them with a Substitute up, so you have time to decide what to do. Coming from Eggy, it's going to hurt whomever it hits. I wanted to include a third set for Exeggutor, but Toxic-Seed is horrible, so there ya go: Creativity. The last move set is something I thought up a few seconds before typing this out. Sleep Powder people to stop them in their tracks, and then the last move is either Stun Spore, Mega Drain, or Double-Edge. Psychic for main attacking, Explosion if you start to wet your pants, or if you're feeling evil. The second move set is the most commonly used one and is the standard set. You Sleep 'em, Sub-up (do whichever attack is appropriate first), Leech Seed to help with life Recovery, and then Psychic Blast away. The first move set I believe is the Benedict set. He learns kickass moves, and he's a dual Grass/Psychic type. He has excellent HP, excellent special, high attack, good defense, and low speed. Exeggutor is possibly one of the most useful monsters in the game. Talk about an extremely well rounded Pokémon. Psychic, Substitute, Solar Beam, Mimic/Sleep Powder. Psychic, Sleep Powder, Stun Spore/Mega Drain/Double-Edge, Explosion.ģ. Psychic, Sleep Powder, Substitute, Leech Seed.Ģ.
Grass attacks are strong versus: Water, Rock, and Ground types.ġ. Grass attacks are ineffective versus: Fire, Dragon, Flying, Grass, Poison and Bug types. Grass types are weak to: Fire, Bug, Poison, Ice, and Flying type attacks. Grass types are resistent to: Grass, Water, Ground, and Electric type attacks. This doesn't undermine offensive power any, but it hinders durability. All Grass types are dual types, save Tangela, the majority of which sharing qualities with Poison types, thereby gaining an outstanding weakness to Psychic type attacks. The naturally learned moves of any given Grass type are also generally useful, so, as you can see, a Grass type is a good selection for any team. Generally speaking, Grass types have good attack, high special, moderate defense, and a high amount of TM compatabililty. Some people say that Solar Beam is good, but a move that takes two turns to use and which can easily be replaced by something else is unnecessary, unless you have ample protection from moves such as Subtitute or Double Team. They have attacks such as Sleep Powder and Stun Spore, not to mention the incredibly hard hitting Razor Leaf, which always Critical Hits in RBY. Grass type Pokémon possess some of the most useful attacks in the game.
